Fortaleza / Natal - 4Days/3Nights - by Land Rover


FORTALEZA / CANOA QUEBRADA

Departure from Fortaleza around 8 a.m. (variable due to the tide) in an off road journey by the seashore, through the Ceará coast. Among others, we will go through the beaches of Porto das Dunas, , Morro Branco and Morro das Fontes, with its fresh water fountains sprouting from the cliffs. We shall also be familiarized with the historic city of Aracati, with its mansions and churches of the Portuguese colonization period, finishing the day by watching the sunset in the dunes of Canoa Quebrada. Overnight stay with breakfast in a simple pousada in Canoa Quebrada. Duration: On this day we ride about 180 km, aprox. 8h, considering jeep time, stops, swim stops, etc.


CANOA QUEBRADA / PONTA DO MEL

Departure from Canoa Quebrada at around 8 am (variable due to the tide) going through the beautiful Ceará beaches of Ponta Grossa, , Redonda and Icapuí characterized by its grand multicolored cliffs, contrasting with the blue sea. We also go through the majestic salt mines of Grossos and Areia Branca, where we cross the Mossoró River in a small ferryboat (20 min. crossing) towards our second overnight stay at Pousada Costa Branca, located in the bucolic village of Ponta do Mel, in the State of Rio Grande do Norte, over a cliff with an exuberant ocean view. Duration: On this day we ride about 150 km , aprox 6 h, considering jeep time, stops, swim stops, etc.


PONTA DO MEL

Departure from Ponta do Mel at around 8 AM (variable due to the tide). On this day we go through dozens of deserted beaches and large creeks, going through the Alagamar desert and beautiful beaches such as Caiçara and Exu Queimado. At Marco beach, we will have the opportunity to see the replica of a mark plunged by the Portuguese colonizers in 1501, which one speculates to be truly the first, Different than what the traditional history states. Afterwards, we move towards São Miguel do Gostoso, location of our third overnight stay. Accommodation at Pousada dos Ponteiros in São Miguel do Gostoso. Duration: On this day we ride about 250 km, aprox 6hrs considering jeep time, stops, swim stops, etc.


SAO MIGUEL / NATAL

Departure from São Miguel do Gostoso towards Natal at around 8am (variable due to the tide). We visit Ponta do Calcanhar, where the largest lighthouse of Latin America is located and São Roque Cape, the closest South American continent point to Africa. Next, we see some deserted beaches, cliffs, and fishermen villages. If the tide and climate conditions are favorable, we can take a dive into the exuberant reefs of Maracajaú, distant 7 km from the coast. At the Redinha Beach, we cross the Pirangi river by ferryboat towards our final destination Natal Duration: Approximately 8 hours and 150 km.
