8 days / 7 night Packages - Fortaleza/ Jericoacoara/ Lençois Maranhenses

Ecotour departing from Fortaleza heading towards the famous Jericoacoara Beach, in an itinerary almost totally through seashore and sertão (dry inner lands) tracks, going through approximately 40 beaches with its magnificent dunes, lagoons, coconut palm trees, and fisherman villages, overall the enchanting sceneries of the Ceará coast.
The tourists travel in potent Land Rover jeeps equipped with air conditioning, CD player, satellite navigation (GPS), and communication radio, feeling closely the sea breeze and stopping during the trip at strategically chosen spots of mesmerizing beauty for swimming, as well as for taking pictures and to know the native fisherman way of life. Flower houses, lace makers at their home porches weaving their work, and other peculiarities of the Northeast culture, are also genuine attractions that can be observed only exploring the sertão tracks. It is a true experience of contact with the Northeastern culture.

DAY 1 - FORTALEZA/MUNDAÚ
|
Departure from Fortaleza at 8 a.m. to an off road seashore course starting from Cumbuco beach. Visitation to several beaches, among them, Cumbuco, with stop for sand ski and photographs, Paracuru and Lagoinha, one of the most beautiful Ceará postcards, where we stop for lunch (not included), which may eventually be at the Flecheiras Beach due to the end of the day tide. At the end of the afternoon, we shall visit the Mundaú rendeiras (female lacemakers) to witness their ancestral craftsman techniques, and following that, we shall watch the sunset on the dunes. Overnight stay in Mundaú Beach at Pousada das Mares or similar.

DAY 2 - MUNDAÚ / JERICOACOARA
|
Departure for Jericoacoara traveling through secondary roads, deserted beaches, and fisherman villages, being presented to a little of the peaceful sertanejo's life (inlander native). We will meet, among others, the beaches of Baleia, Caetanos and Icaraizinho. Arrival in Jericoacoara at the end of the afternoon. Overnight stay in Jericoacoara, at Pousada Recanto do Barão or similar

DAY 3 - JERICOACOARA
|
Jeep ride to Azul and Paraíso Lagoons, with its crystal waters, going back to Jericoacoara at the end of the afternoon to watch the sunset into the sea, seen from the top of a large dune. Overnight stay in Jericoacoara at Pousada Recanto do Barão or similar.

DAY 4 - JERICOACOARA / CAMOCIM
|
In the morning, according to the tide timing, we depart through a section of beaches and tracks (approx. 40 km), with ferry crossings in the Tatajuba Environment Protection Area, ancient fisherman village, reconstructed after having been buried by the dunes. Our destination is at the other side of the Coreaú River. Overnight stay in Camocim at the Boa Vista Resort or similar.

DAY 5 - CAMOCIM CE / PARNAIBA PI
|
At 8a.m., we get the highway towards Parnaíba city, where we take a motorboat tour to see the Parnaíba River Delta, one of the 3 largest deltas in the world with such rich ecosystem. During the tour, we stop for baths, photographs and dunes exploration. Overnight stay in the lodge Pousada dos Ventos or similar.

DAY 6 - PANAIBA PI / CABURE MA / BARREIRINHAS - MA
|
In the morning, departure to the Caburé Beach, in the State of Maranhão, a small strip of land in the Lençóis Maranhenses between the Atlantic Ocean and the Preguiças River. Motorboat ride through the Preguiças River, glimpsing through the rich mangue vegetation, and the Pequenos Lençóis that emerge from its banks. Arrival and overnight stay at Pousada Buriti or similar.

DAY 7 - BARREIRINHAS MA
|
In the morning, ride on a 4x4 local jeep (jardineira) to the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park, visiting Azul or Bonita Lagoons, two of the most beautiful crystal-water lagoons of the park, in the midst of the white dunes vastness. Overnight stay at Pousada Buriti or similar

DAY 8 - BARREIRINHAS MA / SAO LUIS MA
|
In the morning, trip to São Luís by van with AC (3h30min). Transfer to hotel or to the airport.
