The Juma Lodge is a quaint, comfortable hotel designed to integrate with the environment and allow guests to enjoy the wonders of the Amazon Jungle. Located three hours southeast of Manaus, the environmentally conscious eco-lodge is remote and its surroundings are relatively untouched. Juma Lodge's goal is to offer guests unique nature activities, and all trips are organized in small groups, allowing for a personalized experience. Packages range in length of stay and activities, but all include lodging, meals, and bilingual guides. Also unique to the hotel is its construction following indigenous building methods and using materials judiciously extracted from the region. The lodge and guest bungalows are built on stilts, necessary due to the flood season, when the river water level rises up to 20 m (66 ft). The restaurant, also built in the same style, offers delicious regional and international meals. When not busy on excursions, guests can take part in activities near the hotel such as swimming and canoeing.
