Seating Area
1) Camarotes (Luxury Boxes) are the most expensive and coveted positions. There are small private boxes for 12 to 18 people, which must be purchased in total, and larger ones for hundreds of people, some occupying two floors, the lower floor at the parade's street level. These large Camarotes are sold as single all-inclusive tickets, sharing that space with other patrons.

2) Frisas (Front boxes) consists of an open-air box with 6 chairs. When you buy a seat at a Frisa, it is essential to mention that you will have 1 seat/chair per ticket purchased. As each box has a capacity for 6 people, there will be other people next to you in the same box unless you buy all 6 seats. They are at street level and offer a close view of the parade.

3) Grandstands (Bleachers) are the most reasonably priced seats. Their elevated position provides a better view of the school in its entirety. Standard bleachers are not numbered EXCEPT for the special bleachers in Sector 9, which are numbered and more expensive. Bleachers do not have individual chairs to sit in and are basically of open-air large concrete steps.

Note: If you are interested in tickets for Luxury Boxes and non-touristic sectors, don't hesitate to contact one of our operators.

The Blumar office will be open on Friday, February 17th, and Saturday, February 18th, for passengers to collect their Sambadrome tickets:

For security reasons, tickets can only be delivered directly to clients; therefore, a day and time should be scheduled by clients in advance. Blumar does not assume responsibility for delivery should the client fail to show up at the scheduled date and time.

Hotels in Ipanema
Guests staying at Mar Ipanema and Ipanema Inn will walk to the Sol Ipanema Hotel accompanied by Blumar staff. From there, guests will be taken by shuttle to the Sambadrome.

Guests staying at Fasano Rio, Arena Ipanema, Arpoador Hotel, Bossa Nova Ipanema, Atlantis, Copa Sul, and South American Hotels will walk to the Fairmont Rio de Janeiro Hotel accompanied by Blumar staff. From there, guests will be taken by shuttle to the Sambadrome.

Return from Sambadrome to Hotels
After midnight, once each of the samba schools has finished its presentation (each lasts approximately 1 hour), a bus will leave from the Sambadrome to take guests back to their hotels. Drop-offs are only made at hotels located along the beaches of Copacabana, Ipanema, Leblon, and São Conrado (Sheraton Grand Rio). Therefore, guests staying at other hotels should get off the bus at one of the beachfront hotels and walk/take a taxi from there.

Guests will not be accompanied by bilingual staff on the return bus ride to the hotels; Our team will be located inside the Sambadrome, behind Sectors 07 and 09, next to the entrance/exit. All of our staff will be wearing the same carnival t-shirts with "STAFF" written on the back, and a sign written "BLUMAR MEETING POINT" so very easy to find. Blumar will provide a Carnival t-shirt to everyone who buys a ticket to assist our team in identifying them and give all assistance to take the transfer out. We therefore kindly ask all customers to put the t-shirt on before leaving for the Sambadrome. Guests should speak to the Blumar staff at the Sambadrome for information and directions to the pick-up point for the return bus.

Taxi service

We highly recommend using private taxi companies rather than street cabs. Two taxi companies exclusively serve the Sambadrome on samba parade days.
Coopatur - Phone: (21) 97198-6940 serves the even-numbered sectors on one side of the Sambadrome.
Coopertramo - Phone: (21) 98008-0055 or 2209-9292 serves the odd-numbered sectors on the other side.

The taxi ride will cost approximately R$ 200.00 (US$ 50.00) each way. We strongly suggest you agree on a price with the taxi driver/company BEFORE setting off. This information is for your guidance only - we do not take responsibility for any problems with the taxi companies, different rates being charged, or taxi pick-up arrangements not working out.

To get around the city, the best rideshare app is 99 ( Download on the App Store or Google Play). They offer 4 categories: 99 POP, with private cars. 99Comfort, better private vehicles, and rated drivers. 99Taxi, taxi cars, usually with a discount. And Taxi Comum, a regular taxi ride paid by the meter. Always prefer to request a taxi, as the drivers know their way around the city, they work with the best drivers and cars, the ride price is set and paid in the app, and sometimes they give 10 to 20% discount on rides.

Uber is also widely used in Rio, especially inside the Zona Sul and Barra da Tijuca areas.

Please don't use a rideshare to get to/from the Sambadrome, as they do not have permission to enter the blockade area around it. The subway is the best public transportation option to get to/from Sambadrome.

Subway

The Rio Metro system will run 24 hours daily from Saturday until 11 pm on Tuesday. For clients staying in the Ipanema, Leblon, or Copacabana areas, the best way to travel by subway is to go from one of the following subway stations in Copacabana or Ipanema, either Line 1 or Line 4:
- Cardeal Arcoverde Station - Barata Ribeiro Street - Copacabana
- Cantagalo Station - Eugenio Jardim Square - Copacabana
- Siqueira Campos Station - Siqueira Campos Street - Copacabana
- Ipanema Station - General Osorio Square - Ipanema
- Nossa Senhora da Paz Station - Nossa Senhora da Paz Square - Ipanema
- Jardim de Alah Station - Ataulfo de Paiva Av - between Ipanema and Leblon
- Antero de Quental Station - Antero de Quental Street - Leblon
- São Conrado Station - São Conrado
- Jardim Oceanico Station - Barra da Tijuca

The subway journey takes approximately 30 minutes. Passengers should get off at Praça Onze Station to get to even-numbered sectors of the Sambadrome and Central Station to get to odd-numbered sectors. It is an additional 20-minute walk from the stations to the Sambadrome.

A Subway ticket (one way) costs R$ 7,00 (about U$1.80).

Subway map:
Facilities & Services - Each sector has snack bars, restrooms, and shops.

What to take - A disposable raincoat can be a good idea in summer showers and is much better than umbrellas, which can easily get in the way of other people's view of the parade. Personal cameras/video cameras are allowed, but professional video cameras are not. If your clients are watching from the grandstands, then a pair of binoculars can be helpful.

Where to eat - At the Sambadrome, there are plenty of refreshment stands and fast food kiosks in all sectors. Guests are also allowed to take plastic containers with their food and drinks. Drinks are sold in the Frisas and grandstands.

What to wear - Comfortable!! Light!! Casual!! Blumar will provide "Carnival" t-shirts to all passengers who buy tickets- the t-shirt helps our staff identify clients.

The description of the aforementioned Historical City Tour during this period is as follows:

Due to Carnival, much of the city will be closed to vehicles, resulting in our traditional Historical City Tour rerouting. However, when possible, we will extend the tour to include a visit to the Mercado Modelo.

After being picked up from your hotel, we will drive to Pelourinho via Tororo Lake, where wonderful sculptures of the Orixás can be seen on the tranquil waters. Upon arrival in Pelourinho, the walking section of the tour begins. We will stroll through the area's cobbled streets past beautiful colonial buildings and churches (church opening hours will, however, be affected due to Carnival). The streets will be covered in carnival decorations; however, during the morning, there will be little or no carnival activity, allowing us to explore the area calmly. The bands parading through the streets that provide the carnival entertainment in this part of the town begin in the afternoon and give a glimpse of the more traditional Carnival that is very different from the other more hectic parts of the city.

From Pelourinho, we will continue on foot to the Municipal Square, which has a wonderful bay view. Then, we will take a short elevator ride to the bustling Mercado Modelo, the ever-popular market for local souvenirs and handicrafts. Return to hotel.
