Key takeaways
  • Vila Oya, on Praia de Algodoes in Bahia, has only four accommodations, sits a four minute walk from the beach with dedicated beach service, and runs on solar energy with 90% local staff.
  • Oia Casa Daia, in Barroquinha, Ceara, offers three suites and four bungalows with private pools, taking up to 18 guests as a private buyout on the Route of Emotions.
  • The Amazon gains two very different products from Manaus: the six room Eco Floating Lodge, which floats with the river and is accessible year round, and a Rio Negro immersion of 2 to 5 nights built with three partner communities.
  • In Bonito, the new Diamond Wing takes Arte da Natureza to 150 apartments, 89 of them with private pools, plus a redesigned aquatic complex and the new Angico Bistro Regional restaurant.

Every year our product team visits, inspects and negotiates with dozens of properties across Brazil, and only a handful make it into the portfolio we sell. These five made it in 2026: two on stretches of coast that most international itineraries still miss, two in the Amazon, and one expansion in Bonito that changes what a group can do there.

What they have in common is scale. None of them is a 300 room resort. Three of them take fewer than 20 guests at a time, which makes them ideal for private groups, families travelling together and clients who ask for exclusivity without the formality of a traditional luxury hotel.

Below is what our team looks at when a property is added: where it actually sits, how guests get there, how many people it takes, who runs the kitchen, and how the operation treats the place it occupies.

Vila Oyá, Praia de Algodões, Bahia

Vila Oya casa hotel at Praia de Algodoes, Marau Peninsula, Bahia

Nearest airport: Ilhéus. Capacity: four accommodations.

Time Out has just named Praia de Algodões, on the Maraú Peninsula, one of the world’s unmissable destinations, and it still remains a quiet, largely untouched stretch of coast. Vila Oyá is an intimate casa hotel with only four accommodations, where architecture, gastronomy and hand crafted hospitality come together in a version of luxury that is quiet, personal and deeply Brazilian.

Inspired by the simple lines of Bahian fishermen’s houses, the property was built to feel like a home rather than a hotel. It is not beachfront: it sits a four minute walk from the sand, with dedicated beach service for guests. At the heart of the garden, chef Xairon Mysaki leads a kitchen of territory, pairing refined technique with fish caught that morning and produce grown nearby. The four accommodations include bangalôs and suites, one with its own private pool.

The operation runs on solar energy with a 90% local staff, recycles 90% of its waste and maintains active partnerships with local social and sporting initiatives.

Best for: couples, honeymooners and small groups who want southern Bahia without the crowds, usually combined with Salvador and Praia do Forte.

Oiá Casa Daia, Barroquinha, Ceará

Oia Casa Daia in Barroquinha, Ceara, on the Route of Emotions

Nearest airport: Jericoacoara. Capacity: up to 18 guests.

Set between dunes, rivers, mangroves and the open sea at Fazenda Barra dos Remédios, Oiá Casa Daia occupies one of the most preserved stretches of the Brazilian coast, along the Route of Emotions that connects Ceará and Maranhão toward the Lençóis Maranhenses.

The property has three suites of 35 m² for two guests and four bungalows of 90 m² for three guests, each with a private pool and veranda, for a total capacity of 18 people in private group mode. Gastronomy is led by chef Fábio Vieira, a name in contemporary Brazilian cuisine, with a menu built on local ingredients, natural techniques and open fire preparations.

The experience programme is what sets it apart: stand up paddle and kayak river tours, an introduction to kitesurfing, ATV dune tours, seaside barbecues, sururu shellfish gathering with local gatherers, agroforestry visits, fish trap tours with local fishermen and guided visits to nearby fishing communities. Sustainability runs through the operation as daily practice, with agroecological cultivation, water reuse, filter gardens and an on site biodigester.

Best for: buyouts, multigenerational families and incentive groups of up to 18 people, easily paired with Jericoacoara.

Eco Floating Lodge, Lago do Tracajá, Amazonas

Eco Floating Lodge room facing the lake in the Amazon rainforest near Manaus

Nearest airport: Manaus. Capacity: six rooms.

Completely floating and self sufficient, the Eco Floating Lodge rises and falls with the Amazonian rivers, which guarantees access all year round regardless of the season. It is a retreat built around six wooden guest rooms, each with air conditioning, lake facing glass windows, Starlink Wi-Fi, a private bathroom and a balcony for watching the forest wake up.

Clean energy, wastewater treatment and strict safety protocols run quietly behind the scenes, and the lodge actively supports community based tourism. Guests choose between wildlife watching expeditions, ecotourism itineraries named after Amazonian palms (Açaí, Pupunha, Buriti) and private guide adventure programmes that include kayaking, camping and multi day trekking. Packages range from 2 to 10 days and include transfers, meals, activities and bilingual guides.

Best for: clients who want the Amazon with comfort and flexible length of stay. See how it compares with our three reference jungle lodges in the Amazon.

Rio Negro Community Immersion, Amazonas

Community based tourism experience on the Rio Negro, Amazonas

Nearest airport: Manaus, 90 minutes by speedboat. Length: 2 to 5 nights.

Deep inside the Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve, this itinerary was built together with three partner communities. Guests stay in comfortable, community owned lodges, with local hosts leading the rhythm of each day, far from mass tourism yet close to Anavilhanas National Park.

Itineraries of 2 to 5 nights, with around two activities a day, combine river, forest and culture: visits to an indigenous village, canoe rides through the Anavilhanas archipelago, freshwater beaches, night boat tours and craft workshops. Regional all you can eat meals are included, with vegetarian and vegan options available. For guests who want to go deeper, an overnight stay in the forest can be arranged as a customised add on.

Best for: travellers looking for genuine community based tourism rather than a lodge experience, and a strong complement to our exclusive experiences in the Amazon.

Arte da Natureza, Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul

Arte da Natureza hotel in Bonito with the new Diamond Wing and aquatic complex

Nearest airport: Bonito. Capacity: 150 apartments, 89 with private pools.

Already the leading hotel in Bonito, Arte da Natureza has completed its new Diamond Wing: 46 spacious rooms with private balcony pools, alongside a redesigned aquatic complex and a new restaurant, Angico Bistrô Regional, by chef Sylvio Trujillo. With the expansion the hotel now totals 150 apartments, 89 of them with private pools, and it sits within walking distance of Bonito’s main street, with easy access to the town’s restaurants and shops.

Best for: groups and families in a destination where hotel capacity has always been the bottleneck. Our guide on the ideal length of stay in Bonito explains how many nights the region deserves.

How these fit into an itinerary

Three of the five sit in regions that already work well as extensions. Vila Oyá pairs naturally with Salvador, Oiá Casa Daia sits on the Route of Emotions between Jericoacoara and the Lençóis Maranhenses, and Arte da Natureza absorbs the group volume that Bonito has always struggled to accommodate.

The five additions cluster in three regions, each extending a programme we already operate.

The two Amazon products answer different briefs. The Eco Floating Lodge is the choice when comfort and year round access matter, since it floats with the river and does not depend on water levels. The Rio Negro immersion is the choice when the client wants to be a guest of the community rather than of a hotel.

Rates, availability and tailor made itineraries combining any of these properties are available through our team. Talk to your Blumar contact and we will build the programme around them.

FAQ: New Hotels and Exclusive Stays in Brazil for 2026

1. What are the new hotels and stays in Brazil added to Blumar’s portfolio for 2026?

The five new properties and experiences are:

  • Vila Oyá, Praia de Algodões, Bahia
  • Oiá Casa Daia, Barroquinha, Ceará
  • Eco Floating Lodge, Lago do Tracajá, Amazonas
  • Rio Negro Community Immersion, Amazonas
  • Arte da Natureza, Bonito, Mato Grosso do Sul

They cover very different travel styles, from intimate coastal hotels and Amazon lodges to community-based tourism and a larger hotel suited to groups in Bonito.

2. What makes these new Brazil properties different?

The main differentiator is their combination of location, scale and sense of place. Most are not conventional large resorts. Three accommodate fewer than 20 guests at a time, creating opportunities for private groups, families, couples and travelers seeking greater exclusivity.

Blumar’s evaluation also considers practical factors such as access, capacity, gastronomy, experiences, sustainability and how each property can be incorporated into a wider Brazil itinerary.

3. Which new property in Brazil is best for couples and honeymooners?

Vila Oyá, in Praia de Algodões on Bahia’s Maraú Peninsula, is particularly well suited to couples and honeymooners.

With just four accommodations, including bungalows and suites, the casa hotel provides an intimate atmosphere inspired by traditional Bahian fishermen’s houses. One accommodation has a private pool, and guests also have dedicated beach service.

The beach is approximately a four-minute walk away.

4. What is special about Vila Oyá in Praia de Algodões?

Vila Oyá combines small-scale luxury, gastronomy and southern Bahia’s natural setting.

Chef Xairon Mysaki leads a locally rooted culinary programme based on ingredients such as freshly caught fish and nearby produce. The property also operates with solar energy, employs a predominantly local team, recycles much of its waste and supports local social and sporting initiatives.

It is a strong choice for travelers who want to experience the Bahia coast away from its busier destinations.

5. What is the nearest airport to Vila Oyá?

The nearest airport is Ilhéus Airport (IOS). From there, guests continue overland toward Praia de Algodões on the Maraú Peninsula.

Because transfer conditions and journey times can vary, particularly in this part of Bahia, transfers should be planned as part of the itinerary rather than treated as a simple airport-to-hotel journey.

6. Which property is best for a private group or hotel buyout in Brazil?

Oiá Casa Daia, in Barroquinha, Ceará, is one of the strongest options for a private group or exclusive-use stay in Brazil.

It accommodates up to 18 guests, with three 35 m² suites for two guests each and four 90 m² bungalows for three guests each. The bungalows feature private pools and verandas.

This scale makes the property particularly attractive for multigenerational families, groups of friends and small incentive groups.

7. What can guests do at Oiá Casa Daia?

Oiá Casa Daia offers an extensive programme connected to the surrounding dunes, rivers, mangroves, sea and local communities.

Experiences can include kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding, introductory kitesurfing, ATV excursions through the dunes, seaside barbecues, shellfish gathering with local gatherers, agroforestry visits, traditional fish-trap experiences with fishermen and visits to fishing communities.

This makes the property more than an accommodation: it can become a central part of the itinerary itself.

8. Can Oiá Casa Daia be included in a Route of Emotions itinerary?

Yes. Oiá Casa Daia sits along the Route of Emotions, making it particularly useful for itineraries connecting Ceará and Maranhão.

It can be paired with Jericoacoara and Lençóis Maranhenses, allowing travelers to add a highly private coastal experience to one of northeastern Brazil’s most popular nature-focused routes.

The nearest airport is Jericoacoara Airport (JJD).

9. Which new Amazon lodge offers the most comfort and flexibility?

The Eco Floating Lodge at Lago do Tracajá is designed for travelers who want an immersive Amazon experience while maintaining a relatively high level of comfort.

The lodge has only six guest rooms, each equipped with air conditioning, private bathroom, lake-facing windows, balcony and Starlink Wi-Fi.

Its floating construction allows it to rise and fall with Amazonian water levels, supporting access throughout the year.

10. How long can travelers stay at the Eco Floating Lodge?

Packages range from 2 to 10 days, making the lodge suitable for anything from a short Amazon extension to a more immersive expedition.

Packages include transfers, meals, activities and bilingual guides. Depending on the programme, guests can participate in wildlife observation, kayaking, trekking, camping and other guided Amazon experiences.

11. Is the Eco Floating Lodge suitable for adventure travelers?

Yes. Although it offers comforts such as air conditioning and Wi-Fi, the Eco Floating Lodge can also accommodate more adventurous itineraries.

Private-guide programmes can incorporate kayaking, camping and multi-day trekking, while other itineraries focus more heavily on wildlife and ecotourism.

This flexibility makes it useful when different clients want different levels of adventure without giving up a comfortable base.

12. What is the Rio Negro Community Immersion?

The Rio Negro Community Immersion is a community-based tourism programme inside the Rio Negro Sustainable Development Reserve in Amazonas.

Rather than staying at a conventional hotel or jungle lodge, travelers stay in comfortable community-owned lodges and experience the region with local hosts.

The programme was developed with three partner communities and is designed around meaningful interaction with the people, landscapes and culture of the Rio Negro.

13. What experiences are included in the Rio Negro Community Immersion?

Depending on the itinerary, activities can include:

  • Canoe trips through the Anavilhanas archipelago
  • Visits to an Indigenous village
  • Freshwater beach experiences
  • Nighttime boat excursions
  • Local craft workshops
  • Forest and river activities

Programmes generally include around two activities per day, while an overnight experience in the forest can be arranged as a customized addition.

14. How many nights are recommended for the Rio Negro Community Immersion?

Programmes range from 2 to 5 nights.

A shorter stay works well as an extension to a broader Amazon itinerary, while additional nights provide more time for cultural interaction and exploration of the river and forest environment.

The communities are reached from Manaus, with the journey taking approximately 90 minutes by speedboat.

15. What is the difference between the Eco Floating Lodge and the Rio Negro Community Immersion?

The two experiences answer different travel briefs.

Choose the Eco Floating Lodge when the priority is a small, comfortable lodge, private guiding, flexible trip duration and year-round access.

Choose the Rio Negro Community Immersion when the priority is community-based tourism, cultural exchange and staying with locally operated accommodations rather than having a conventional hotel experience.

They can therefore appeal to similar nature-oriented travelers while delivering distinctly different Amazon journeys.

16. What is new at Arte da Natureza in Bonito?

Arte da Natureza Hotel has expanded with its new Diamond Wing, adding 46 spacious rooms with private balcony pools.

The expansion also includes a redesigned aquatic complex and Angico Bistrô Regional, led by chef Sylvio Trujillo.

The hotel now has 150 apartments, of which 89 feature private pools.

17. Why is Arte da Natureza a good option for groups visiting Bonito?

Hotel capacity can be an important consideration when organizing larger groups in Bonito. With 150 apartments, Arte da Natureza provides significantly more flexibility than Brazil’s smaller boutique properties.

Its location within walking distance of Bonito’s main street also gives guests convenient access to restaurants, shops and the town centre while using the hotel as a base for the region’s nature excursions.

This makes it particularly relevant for families, incentive travel and larger leisure groups visiting Bonito.

18. Which of these properties are best for families?

The choice depends on the family size and travel style.

Oiá Casa Daia is particularly attractive for multigenerational families and private groups of up to 18 guests. Arte da Natureza works better for larger families or multiple families traveling together, while the Eco Floating Lodge can suit families looking for a small-scale Amazon adventure with comfortable accommodation.

Vila Oyá is more naturally positioned toward couples, honeymooners and smaller groups.

19. Which properties are best for sustainable and community-based travel in Brazil?

Sustainability appears in different forms across the portfolio.

Vila Oyá uses solar energy, has a predominantly local team and maintains waste-recycling and community initiatives. Oiá Casa Daia incorporates agroecological cultivation, water reuse, filter gardens and an on-site biodigester. The Eco Floating Lodge uses clean-energy and wastewater-treatment systems while supporting community-based tourism.

For travelers who want community participation to be the central purpose of the trip, the Rio Negro Community Immersion is the strongest match.

20. Can these new properties be combined with classic Brazil destinations?

Yes. Their locations make several combinations particularly practical:

  • Vila Oyá + Salvador + Praia do Forte for a broader Bahia itinerary
  • Oiá Casa Daia + Jericoacoara + Lençóis Maranhenses for the Route of Emotions
  • Eco Floating Lodge or Rio Negro Community Immersion + Manaus for an Amazon programme
  • Arte da Natureza + Bonito’s main nature attractions for individual travelers, families or groups

These combinations allow lesser-known experiences to be incorporated into established Brazil itineraries without building an entire trip around a single new destination.

21. Which new Brazil stay is best for travelers seeking exclusivity?

For maximum exclusivity, Vila Oyá, Oiá Casa Daia and the Eco Floating Lodge stand out because of their limited capacity.

Vila Oyá has only four accommodations, Oiá Casa Daia accommodates up to 18 guests, and the Eco Floating Lodge has six rooms.

For private groups, Oiá Casa Daia is especially compelling because its 18-guest capacity makes an exclusive-use format practical.

22. How should travel planners choose between these five properties?

Start with the client profile and the role the stay should play within the itinerary.

For romance and intimate coastal luxury, consider Vila Oyá. For a private group and experiential beach stay, choose Oiá Casa Daia. For a comfortable Amazon lodge experience, consider Eco Floating Lodge. For community-based Amazon travel, choose the Rio Negro Community Immersion. For families and larger groups in Bonito, Arte da Natureza offers the greatest capacity.

Access, seasonality, group size, desired level of comfort and the surrounding itinerary should all be considered before confirming the final choice.

23. How can travelers book these new hotels and experiences in Brazil?

Rates, availability, transfers and tailor-made itineraries can be arranged through Blumar DMC.

Because several of these properties have very limited capacity, availability can be an important factor, particularly for private groups, families traveling together and peak travel periods. Blumar can combine the accommodation with transfers, activities and other destinations to create a complete Brazil itinerary.
